I just got back from ACEN, a huge anime convention in Chicago. I love photography so this was a great opportunity to practice the skill and while I don’t know a lot about the Japanese anime/manga culture, I do like an anime series titled “Full Metal Alchemist.” At the convention I was lucky enough to meet and talk to the English speaking voice over artists for the show. A lot of people stereotype anime fans as being nerdy, and while there were some serious geeks at this event, I realized there are all types of fans, and I even realized that some of the geeks were even a little cool. “Some” and “little” are definitely the key words here. Either way, it was great seeing people enjoying something they love so much and it was nice being in a place where my dancing skills were accepted as average rather than poor.
